I live and paint on California's
dramatic North Coast. I have also lived for many
years in Latin America, which often provides a
backdrop for my work.
I am a colorist first, inspired
by light both in the sky and on the page. I try to
let my intuition lead my explorations of life and
its' rituals. I take delight in the juxtaposition
of the sacred and the profane, the real and the
surreal.
Humor, sensuality, and the
richness of earthly delights are my focus. I often
work on several pieces at once, letting one piece
affect another.
Animals, food, and music making
are favorite subjects. I am mostly self-taught,
although I am indebted to a number of great
mentors.
The work shown here is in
watercolor, painted on Fabriano 300 lb. archival
paper.
